2020
Dandelion Learning was born as a result of the pandemic. Just like a dandelion can be seen as a weed or a million wishes, the pandemic was seen as an opportunity for us to connect with families when they needed it most.
When school became remote many children struggled socially and emotionally. We decided to help families by hosting playdates to just have healthy children play together. This evolved into lessons and clubs and soon we started our company!
Parma Preschool
Both of us began our educational journey at Parma Preschool: a private, Reggio-Inspired preschool serving Northeast Ohio. It was here that we truly embraced and studied The Reggio-Emilia Approach.
Education & Training
Jackie has a Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Certificate in Reggio-Emilia Studies
Julie has a Bachelor Degree in Communication, and a Certificate in Reggio-Emilia Studies.
Both Jackie and Julie are certified in Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention, First Aid, CPR, Trauma-Informed Education, and Communicable Disease Recognition.
Reggio-Emilia, Italy, 2017
We were both lucked enough to travel to Italy as a part of an international study group in 2017. While there we participated in a week long study group focused on The Reggio-Emilia Approach to Education at the world-renowned Loris Malaguzzi International Centre and visited many authentic Reggio schools.
